The game will come with over 100 songs, with additional downloadable content available. Eventually, the tracklist will include pop, hip-hop, R&B, dance, rock, country, Latin and Caribbean music. The game will offer multiplayer and freestyle modes, plus live challenges.

Unlike most other music-making games, users won’t need a special controller to play. When the game arrives on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Windows PC this fall, users will only need a standard gamepad.

Harmonix will offer hands-on demos at PAX East in Boston beginning tomorrow, and it’ll show the game off at EGX Rezzed in London next month.

For months, engineering teams from USPS and NVIDIA have been developing the AI models, which will help USPS read address labels more quickly and effectively. The system starts with high-performance servers powered by NVIDIA V100 Tensor Core GPUs and deep learning software, which train multiple algorithms. The trained models are then deployed to NVIDIA EGX edge computing systems at nearly 200 USPS facilities.

Delivery and testing of the system will begin this year, and the AI is expected to be fully operational in spring of 2020. While USPS will get an efficiency boost, this is a big win for NVIDIA too. It shows that AI processes are finding more practical uses.

USPS is experimenting with self-driving mail trucks as well. This spring, it signed a contract with San Diego self-driving truck company TuSimple for a two-week pilot. That involved the company’s trucks hauling USPS trailers on five round trips between the postal service’s Phoenix, Arizona and Dallas, Texas distribution centers. USPS is also developing a drone ‘airline’ to deliver medical samples in the US.

As an example, NVIDIA said Walmart deployed its EGX tech in its Levittown, NY retail lab to improve in-store shopping. It can apparently tell employees to retrieve shopping carts, restock produce and meat, open up checkout lanes and stock shelves. In that application, “Walmart is able to compute in real time more than 1.6 terabytes of data generated each second,” NVIDIA said.

Samsung is using the app to help it design and manufacture semiconductors, while BMW is crunching data from cameras and other sensors to automate vehicle inspection. NVIDIA offers a variety of apps for the product, including NVIDIA Metropolis, used by cities to streamline traffic and pedestrian flow, among other jobs. In another application, EGX can be used to speed up 5G radio network deployments while making them more flexible with new services like AR, VR and gaming.

None of this is very consumer friendly, but you could feel the effects of it when you go about your daily business. NVIDIA said it’s already being used by over 100 tech companies around the world.
