If you’ve ever pre-ordered a Switch game and then changed your mind, you’ll know that Nintendo aren’t great at offering refunds. Nintendo’s corporate policy was to charge you the second the pre-order was made and then, if you complain, simply to bellow ‘no refunds’ into your face. That is, mercifully, changing as the Japanese gaming giant is now copying the models of pretty much every other online games store.

In an announcement, Nintendo said that it is no longer taking your money the second you hit the pre-order button. Instead, it’ll charge your card no sooner than seven days before the software’s official release, which means you’ve got until the week before a game comes out to change your mind. That should help encourage more pre-orders, since folks know they can back out of the deal should a title be delayed.

Beyond sometime in “2020,” we don’t have an exact release date for the Switch release of Burnout Paradise Remastered just yet. But we’ll share something once we know more.
Hardcore players with some time on their hands could try either Romancing Saga 2 or 3. The two titles were originally released on the Super Famicom — the Japanese version of the Super Nintendo — and have never been available to western audiences until recently. The games are exceedingly deep and challenging and take 20 to 30 hours to complete. Collection of Mana is a great deal, too, since it contains three games: Final Fantasy Adventure, Secret of Mana and Trials of Mana for $19.99 — half off the typical $39.99 price.

Square Enix’s games don’t go on sale very often, and the publisher’s practice of charging more than the industry standard has become a cliché in the gaming world, so these lower prices could be attractive to those who want to relive the era when turn-based and 2D RPGs reigned. The length of the sale isn’t clear, so fans may want to jump on this deal while it lasts.

Some of the other notable differences between the two versions are that the arcade one features better graphics and that it allows you to switch between 10 different players instead of nine. The NES version, however, was the first console sports game to feature licensed players. In 1991, its sequel, Tecmo Super Bowl, became the first sports game licensed by both the National Football League and National Football League Players Association, allowing it to feature both real NFL teams and players. If you own a Switch, you can play the NES version of Tecmo Bowl through Nintendo’s Switch Online service.
