And if you want to studying using digital books, the basic ad-supported Kindle is available for $70 ($20 off).

The Echo Plus hasn’t been updated since 2018, but that’s not a bad thing. It produces a richer sound than the standard Echo without consuming much more space, and it can get your smart home started quickly thanks to its built-in smart hub and temperature sensor. The Echo Studio, however, is what you want if you’re more of a stickler for sound. We found it quite capable for the money, and it even benefits from high-quality audio services like Amazon Music HD. It’s just a question of whether you’re willing to pay nearly $100 more for the privilege.

It doesn’t have more advanced features like an always-on display or ECG measurements like the Series 5 does, but it has all of the standard Apple Watch features that you’d expect. In addition to having built-in heart rate and GPS monitors, it also tracks daily activities and workouts well, delivers smartphone alerts to your wrist, lets you use your wrist to checkout with Apple Pay and more. We gave it a score of 82 thanks to those features plus its good performance and battery life.

We prefer the higher-end model with a 10th-gen Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage that’s on sale for $1,250. That’s a much better value for your money and it will serve most people well as their daily driver.

Kindles are, by far, the most popular e-readers you can get and they make it easy to take your entire library with you wherever you go. While we might not be traveling too far right now, it’s certainly easier to carry a bunch of titles on an e-reader out to your porch or to your local park than it is to do so with a stack of paperbacks. Amazon’s Kindle Paperwhite earned a score of 95 from us thanks to its compact, waterproof design, improved contrast display and new Audible support. Now you can take audiobooks from Audible with you in addition to e-books and listen to them directly from the Paperwhite. Kindle Unlimited includes some Audible narrations as well, so you can listen to those at no extra cost if you choose the bundle.

The regular Kindle is a great alternative if you’re on a budget. We gave it a score of 91 for its smaller and sleeker design, higher-quality display and a new front light that makes reading in darker environments much easier. It’s not waterproof, nor does it support Audible listening, but those are premium features that not everyone will need (or want) to pay extra for.

It’s worth noting that these sale prices aren’t the lowest ever we’ve seen on these Kindles by themselves. If you’re holding out for the best deal on just the e-readers, you’ll probably want to wait until Amazon Prime Day later this year or the holiday shopping season. You’ll also have to deal with the ads Amazon serves up to Kindle home screens as both deals are for the ad-supported models. However, these are good deals if you’ve had your eye on a new e-reader for a while and want to test out Kindle Unlimited for free. Just keep in mind that the subscription will auto-renew at $10 per month once the free three-month trial is up.

Maker of smart hearing aids Eargo is running a Father’s Day sale that slashes 15 percent off the price of the Eargo Neo HiFi. These are the newest hearing aids from the company that include increased bandwidth to amplify a wider range of frequencies, better feedback cancellation and a new algorithm for wind reduction. Engadget’s James Trew tested these out and found them to be a solid improvement to Eargo’s previous hearing aids. This sale knocks $450 off the Neo HiFi’s price and, while they remain expensive at $2,500, it’s not an usual price for a good hearing aid.

Apple’s already has the back-to-school mindset as it announced its special promotion for the 2020 season — the company will throw in a pair of free AirPods when you buy select Macs or iPads for college. AirPods with the wired charging case will be totally free and you can upgrade to AirPods with the wireless charging case for $40 extra or even AirPods Pro for $90 extra. This is a good deal considering how popular AirPods are and how well they work with Apple devices. Student customers can also save a bit of money on their new Apple devices with the company’s education pricing.

Buy Kindle without Special Offers on Amazon – $80

The current-generation Kindle is a bargain at these prices if you’re just looking for the fundamentals. You get an LED-lit screen, weeks of reading time and a touch interface for a much lower price than Amazon’s other e-readers. With that said, there are limitations that might tempt you to spend more for the Kindle Paperwhite.

This base Kindle isn’t water-resistant, so it’s not your pick if you like to read in the bath or by the pool (please, not the beach right now). The 4GB of storage will still hold many titles, but bookworms may want the 8GB or more of higher-end Kindles. And while the 167ppi screen density is certainly enough for casual reading, you may appreciate the more print-like 300ppi of the Paperwhite and Oasis. If you’re not particular about those aspects, though, the money you save on the regular Kindle will easily help you fill out your library.

Both scored well in our in-depth reviews (95 and 91 respectively), which isn’t a huge surprise as Kindle is arguably the posterchild for e-readers. If you were already prepared to part with $90 for the standard Kindle, this deep discount means it’s a no-brainer to go for the Paperwhite instead, which comes with waterproofing and Bluetooth Audible support. That said, if those features don’t mean that much to you, $60 for the standard Kindle is not to be sneezed at, although it will mean less storage (4GB instead of 8GB) — but then again, how many books can you really be reading at once?

Both devices received high scores when we reviewed them, 95 and 91, respectively. The two standout features on the Kindle Paperwhite are waterproofing and Bluetooth Audible support, so you can listen to audiobooks on the go. The Paperwhite comes in black or twilight blue, with 8GB or 32GB of storage. The latter will cost you $110, but that’s still a $50 discount.

If you decided to save even more, going with the Kindle won’t be too much of a sacrifice. The latest model includes a front-lit screen, touchscreen and support for Audible over Bluetooth. You’ll give up waterproofing, get less storage (4GB) and be limited to black or white, but those may very well be tradeoffs you’re willing to make. These discounts could make the readers especially appealing if your New Year’s resolutions included reading goals.

The second-gen Echo Show has a sharp, colorful, 10-inch display — thanks to design refinements, it doesn’t take up too much counter space. The Echo Show 8 is Amazon’s most recent addition to the lineup. It combines the same screen and sound capabilities of the Echo Show with the camera shutter and form factor of the Echo Show 5, and of course, an 8-inch display.

Plenty of other Amazon products are on sale too. In addition to the Fire TV and Echo discounts, Amazon is offering $45 off its latest Kindle Paperwhite ($85) and $30 off its latest Kindle ($60). Those devices received high scores when we reviewed them, 95 and 91, respectively. The new Paperwhite is a welcomed update to the classic. It’s added perks include waterproofing, Audible support over Bluetooth, improved design and a better-contrast display. The updated Kindle gives the Paperwhite a run for its money, though. In addition to a touchscreen and Audible support, the lower-end Kindle finally has a front-lit screen.

These discounts are valid through December 2nd.

With the two year guarantee, Amazon says it’ll replace the device for free should anything happen to it. FreeTime Unlimited, if you’re not familiar, offers some 20,000 kid-friendly books, videos and apps. It works across multiple devices, so you have a backup when your kid wants to do something else. You can add it to your existing Prime subscription for $2.99 per month. Otherwise, it costs $4.99 per month. Amazon also has prepaid yearly options for families with either one or more children.

Amazon has also added a variety of new software features to keep kids reading. In addition to the Kindle’s built-in dictionary, the Kids Edition includes a feature called Word Wise that will automatically define any difficult words. The e-reader will turn any word a child lookups into a flashcard for later review. There are also achievement badges to earn, as well as more fun wallpapers than the ones that come standard with the company’s other Kindles. It’s also worth mentioning the Kids Edition is based on the Kindle update Amazon announced in March, so it includes an adjustable front light.

At $109.99, the Kindle Kids Edition is more expensive than the $89.99 Kindle but not as pricey as the $129.99 Paperwhite. The Kindle Kids Edition is available to pre-order starting today, and it will ship on October 30th. If you buy two of the e-readers at the same time, Amazon will give you 25 percent off the total price of the two products.

Best Buy’s three-day weekend sale includes a bunch of discounts on Apple and Amazon products, as well as cuts on laptops, TVs, smartwatches and smart home products. The sale runs through Sunday, and if you’ve been waiting to buy a new device, it’s worth checking out.
