The last time Intel swapped its logo for a new one, Engadget was less than two years old. Now the company once again has a new look and later this year it will get a “modernized” new sound. The updated iconography comes alongside the launch of its 11th generation Tiger Lake CPUs and Project Evo initiative.

Intel Corporation

The company is changing things around at an interesting time, as it’s recently struggled to make key transitions on time and Apple dumped Intel’s Core CPUs in favor of building its own ARM-based CPUs. Still, it’s held off rivals since dropping Intel Inside back in 2006, so it will still come down to performance while the company works out its 7nm issues.

In January the president tweeted out an image he called the logo for the US Space Force, but that was actually the seal. With the Air Force Space Command being rebranded as its own military agency, the Space Force is unveiling its actual new logo, along with plenty of explanations for why it’s not a ripoff of Star Trek (or Pontiac).

The Delta Symbol has been in use since 1961 by the Air Force’s department, and this image explains the various elements that reference the military branches, rockets launching and its “core values.” As far as the motto, it’s “Semper Supra,” which means “Always Above.”

Sony made a leftfield announcement at CES today — it’s made a car. With help from Bosch, NVIDIA and Qualcomm the company has created its first prototype vehicle under its Vision-S initiative — pipping the likes of Google and Apple, which have been talking about doing something similar, to the post. It is, predictably, loaded with sensors and other Sony tech. Elsewhere in its press conference, Sony demonstrated 360 Reality Audio, its revamped TV series and finally unveiled the long-awaited official PS5 logo — and it’s reassuringly familiar.

Along with the name, OnePlus revealed an equally basic logo, saying there was more to it than might first meet the eye. “We were inspired by classic geometric progression [and] …looking closer, you can tell that the we’ve used the same thickness for both logo and the letters to ensure an aesthetics of ‘symmetry’ and ‘unity,'” the company explained.

The name isn’t terribly original but is in keeping with the company’s simple naming system for its popular phones. As for the TV itself, OnePlus will reportedly be tackling the notoriously difficult market with a wide range of LED models ranging between 43 and 75 inches that run Android TV, according to a recent Bluetooth SIG listing spotted by 9 to 5 Google. While announcing the name, OnePlus said that folks should “stay tuned as there is more exciting news coming soon.”
