Microsoft and the NBA are teaming up to deliver personalized game broadcasts that use machine learning and AI to learn fans’ preferences. To start, they’ll broadcast live and on-demand games via Microsoft Azure and add personalized real-time stats overlays. They’ll also explore new ways to share clips from historical video archives, reward viewers for participation and catch fans up on their favorite teams without having them search through all scores, headlines and highlights.

The multi-year deal will begin with the 2020-21 season, and it will include the NBA League Pass subscription service that features out-of-market matchups, full replays and a library of classic games. The new platform will effectively become an enhanced version of the NBA App, Variety notes. It may include new gaming elements and rewards, which could potentially be used for discounts on merchandise, tickets or exclusive content.

To join the program, launch the Play Store app on your Android smartphone and then tap the three lines icon located inside the search bar at the top interface. You’ll then see a menu item called “Play Points.” The program is free to join, and you can earn points on everything you buy from the Play Store, including in-app purchases and subscriptions. You can earn additional points by downloading a rotating list of featured apps each week, as well as taking advantage of weekly promotions.

Once you have some points, you can redeem them for Play Store credit, in addition to in-app purchases — which might make that secret Candy Crush Saga addiction a tad more affordable. Lastly, you can donate the points to a variety of nonprofits.

With each dollar spent, you also move closer to a higher rewards tier. There are four tiers in total. Each one comes with additional perks. The most notable bonus is that you earn more points per dollar spent than in the previous category. With the platinum tier, for instance, you get 1.4 points per dollar compared to one point per dollar in the bronze tier. The catch is that you have to maintain a certain level of spending to stay in a specific category.

If you want to earn additional Play Store credits, you can also download Google’s longstanding Opinion Rewards app, which lets you earn app rewards by giving your two cents on a variety of topics.

The Founder’s Edition is available for $30 ($10 cheaper than the launch-day price). It’s essentially a paid beta. PopCap says the modes and features in the Founder’s Edition are already final, but by letting fans come in early, the team will be able to polish performance. The dev team hopes to gather feedback specific to each week’s content launch, and for the first four weeks, “Founding Neighbors” will be rewarded with exclusive rewards, like a Fire Defender item, Ultimate Champ Star costume for All-Star Zombie and Pea of Valiance costume for Peashooter.

It’s been six years since Plants vs Zombies 2 made its way into the world, and fans have been eagerly waiting for the next edition. This isn’t the first time they’ve previewed the game, though. Earlier this summer, PopCap shared a pre-alpha build on Google Play. With the feedback from that build and the Founder’s Edition, we’d expect Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville to be pretty much perfect by its October launch.
