Roku has been adding free TV shows and movies to this channel since its inception. Subscribing to channels like STARZ, ShowTime and others through Roku means you’ll get one bill each month that includes each paid streaming service you subscribe to, which is a bit easier to manage than a bunch of smaller, separate bills. The cost of most channels available is the same whether you subscribe through Roku or separately, so it’s a good option if you prefer to see all of your streaming charges in one place.

Good news, couch potatoes: Roku is now giving you a better way to sort through its wealth of free movies and TV shows. The new “Live TV Channel Guide” is exactly that: a traditional grid interface for seeing what’s airing on the Roku Channel, the company’s popular free content fountain. Additionally, Roku is also adding new streams to the Channel, including Reuters and Spanish-language content from Latido. None of this is exactly groundbreaking, but it’s a clear sign that Roku’s leap into free content is paying off. Having a guide is simpler than navigating through the more icon-heavy Channel interface, and it’s also easier for new cord cutters to grasp.

You can find the channels by either visiting The Roku Channel or checking areas like “Featured Free.” As usual, this is as much about promoting the services (be sure to cancel any you don’t want to keep) as it is giving people something to do when they can’t go outside. If your idea of sheltering in place involves catching up on Power or semi-recent movies, though, you’re well-covered.

Other additions include USA Today‘s news network, ACCDN’s intercollegiate sports coverage, the social-friendly news and originals of Now This and Comedy Dynamics’ stand-up comedy shows, movies and documentaries.

There is one addition for those willing to pay. You now have the option of subscribing to Sports Illustrated‘s streaming service, SI TV, if you’re eager to check out its mix of originals and documentaries. Like Fubo’s channel, it’s more for sports fans who aren’t satisfied with the live coverage they already have elsewhere.
