There aren’t, however, any non-fighters in the mix. You won’t be playing Metal Slug, Puzzle Bobble or other Neo Geo hits that fall outside of the Arcade Stick Pro’s narrow scope. That’s not completely surprising given the all-in-one design. This is meant for people who practically lived for arcade matches during the Neo Geo’s heyday, rather than a survey of the system’s entire history. Still, it’s unfortunate if you were hoping for a throwback device that covered the full experience.

Mortal Kombat 11 will be available on the platform, in November. Google also said Stadia will play home to The Elder Scrolls Online and Borderlands 3. Superhot, which hit Nintendo Switch today, is also coming to Stadia, as is Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle.

Among the other games that Google showcased were Windjammers 2, a 3D puzzle platformer called Kine, Orcs Must Die! 3, a remake of Destroy All Humans! and Samurai Shodown. They join a raft of previously announced games, including Destiny 2, Watch Dogs: Legion, Darksiders Genesis, NBA 2K, Grid, several Tomb Raider titles and much more.

Amid the retro gaming console fad, last year’s release of the Neo Geo Mini didn’t attract as much attention as others, but SNK is back this summer with a $140 Samurai Shodown edition to celebrate the release of Samurai Shodown on PS4 and Xbox One. Unfortunately, according to reviews, despite a reshuffled list of included games this version of the console still suffers from subpar video output over HDMI. The good news is that fans of the arcade/home gaming system may have something better to look forward to.

Ahead of the EVO 2019 event this weekend, SNK tweeted that “A Next-Gen NEOGEO hardware is coming after NEOGEO Mini.” It promises a modern design and the ability to link to the Mini. The last time we saw modular hardware in this family was with the Neo Geo X, and really all we can hope for is that things are a little better executed this time around.
