Today through April 19th, you can tune into Games Done Quickly’s (GDQ) streamed COVID-19 charity event to watch some of the fastest speedrunners in the world race through new and classic games and raise money for the coronavirus pandemic. The event, Corona Relief Done Quick (CRDQ), kicks off at 12PM ET, and 100 percent of donations will go to Direct Relief, which helps provide medical supplies to those in need. Earlier this year, a similar GDQ event raised more than $3 million for the Prevent Cancer Foundation, so we can expect this to be a significant fundraiser for COVID-19 relief.

You can find the stream through GDQ’s Twitch channel. While most of GDQ’s speedrunning events are hosted in-person, this one will be virtual, for obvious reasons. According to Polygon, in each segment, a streamer and host will take over to explain their strategy and read out donations coming in from viewers. The event will run around the clock through Sunday, and the full schedule can be found online.

There is one caveat: the NFL app won’t stream the game in 4K HDR. If you refuse to watch the big game in anything but 4K, you can check out our guide to watching the Super Bowl via cable and satellite TV, streaming or online livestreams.

The Fox and Roku dispute began yesterday when Fox sent an email to its customers telling them that the standalone Fox apps wouldn’t be available as of January 31st, due to an agreement between the companies expiring. A Fox spokesperson called the notification a “poorly timed negotiating ploy” and “a naked effort to use its customers as pawns.” Regardless of how this ends for Fox and Roku, you don’t need to worry about missing out on the gameday action.

Update (11 PM ET): And….with about one hour to go before January ended, Fox and Roku announced they have reached an agreement so you can go ahead and stream via whichever app you want. The Fox apps will be available on Roku.

The company says this new functionality has been well-received globally since launching on Periscope, so it wanted to expand that to Twitter and give people another way to connect with each other every day. Like on Periscope, those who join you can use their microphone and be heard by everyone who’s watching your stream, and they can drop off anytime to give others a chance to request to jump in.

“With this launch, we’re enabling richer conversations by allowing viewers to call in, like a talk show, and join with their voice,” Kayvon Beykpour, Twitter’s head of product, told Engadget about the feature in February. “This makes live conversations even more fluid, and allows for new possibilities and ways people can have conversations.”
