<p>If you already have a 4K TV but don&#8217;t have one with a built-in Fox Sports app or a 4K box from TV providers like Dish, Comcast, Verizon or DirecTV, then adding a set-top box or streaming stick will work as a shortcut. For cord-cutters, you can <a href="https://www.fubo.tv/signup" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">sign up with Fubo TV</a> (or at least take advantage of its <a href="https://support.fubo.tv/hc/en-us/articles/115003535347-How-does-the-free-trial-work-" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">7-day free trial</a>) and <a href="https://support.fubo.tv/hc/en-us/articles/360011479911-Does-fuboTV-offer-any-content-in-4K-HDR-" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">get the 4K stream that way</a>.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" alt="Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K" data-caption="Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K" data-credit="Amazon" data-credit-link-back="" data-dam-provider="" data-local-id="local-7-7858560-1580314260767" data-media-id="f7267697-9eab-434d-956e-aa5c6a6b4a37" data-original-url="https://s.yimg.com/os/creatr-uploaded-images/2020-01/ed7a6ed0-42b1-11ea-b3bb-68ec27373423" data-title="Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K" src="https://www.efrtechgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/The-best-pre-Super-Bowl-deals-for-4K-TVs-and-streaming.jpeg"/></p>
<p>All of Amazon&#8217;s Fire TV 4K hardware <a href="https://www.engadget.com/2020/01/27/amazon-sale-fire-tv-stick-cube-recast/">is on sale right now</a>, including the <a href="https://www.engadget.com/2018/10/03/amazon-fire-tv-stick-4k/">Fire TV Stick 4K</a> for $35, which is $15 cheaper than the usual $50 price. According to Fox, it is scheduled receive an HDR feed, so this should guarantee you one of the best-looking views of the game available anywhere.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" alt="Roku" data-caption="Roku" data-credit="" data-credit-link-back="" data-dam-provider="" data-local-id="local-8-9246393-1580314309293" data-media-id="9b74252c-263b-4d47-8140-14c9e0514a0d" data-original-url="https://s.yimg.com/os/creatr-uploaded-images/2020-01/0b977a70-42b2-11ea-bead-0379fe063e90" data-title="Roku" src="https://www.efrtechgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/1580319307_748_The-best-pre-Super-Bowl-deals-for-4K-TVs-and-streaming.jpeg"/></p>
<p>Roku&#8217;s Premiere also can catch a Fox Sports stream, and is available at many stores for just <a href="https://www.roku.com/products/roku-premiere" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">$30</a>. Of course, if your setup is all-Apple then the Apple TV 4K is the way to go (although the Super Bowl feed will not be in HDR), and Walmart has the cheapest price right now at <a href="https://www.walmart.com/ip/Apple-TV-4K-32GB/976529747" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">$169</a> for the 32GB model.</p>
<p>Still, none of that matters unless you have a 4K TV to plug it into, and then the question is how much space is there in your living room &#8212; and your budget. If the answer is &#8220;not much&#8221; then one of the cheaper but still-good options is Hisense&#8217;s 50H8F. It&#8217;s easy to find at Amazon or Best Buy with a small discount to <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NZV24YQ/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;linkCode=ll1&amp;tag=productpost2020-20&amp;language=en_US" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">$330</a>, and it recently scored as one of RTINGS.com&#8217;s <a href="http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/best/by-price/under-500" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">best 4K TVs under $500</a>.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" alt="TCL" data-caption="TCL" data-credit="TCL" data-credit-link-back="" data-dam-provider="" data-local-id="local-1-4464602-1580313030807" data-media-id="e1a7c27f-4e27-44fd-b6e3-5c2524886ab5" data-original-url="https://s.yimg.com/os/creatr-uploaded-images/2020-01/0e1b4680-42af-11ea-bff7-fb2a631ee12e" data-title="TCL" src="https://www.efrtechgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/1580319307_460_The-best-pre-Super-Bowl-deals-for-4K-TVs-and-streaming.jpeg"/></p>
<p>If you&#8217;re ready to step up to something larger &#8212; and you should, 4K really shines on these big screens &#8212; then things get interesting. Budget options include the 2018 65-inch favorite from TCL, as the 65R615 is once again on sale at Best Buy for $499. That matches the lowest price we&#8217;ve seen for this one, so if it&#8217;s available close by it may be convenient to pick up for the weekend.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" alt="TCL" data-caption="TCL" data-credit="TCL" data-credit-link-back="" data-dam-provider="" data-local-id="local-2-1958718-1580313135258" data-media-id="db84382e-ff60-414f-a5e5-3935039a6e09" data-original-url="https://s.yimg.com/os/creatr-uploaded-images/2020-01/4ee7b720-42af-11ea-8dbc-50cc11c6a8cc" data-title="TCL" src="https://www.efrtechgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/1580319307_717_The-best-pre-Super-Bowl-deals-for-4K-TVs-and-streaming.jpeg"/></p>
<p>Slightly pricier options from the 2019 vintage include TCL&#8217;s newer model, the 65R625 that adds quantum dot colors and is available for $699, matching the lowest price we&#8217;ve seen so far. That&#8217;s also $100 less than what I paid just a few months ago.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" alt="Vizio" data-caption="Vizio" data-credit="Vizio" data-credit-link-back="" data-dam-provider="" data-local-id="local-3-3704165-1580313204782" data-media-id="fbdb74da-3fa2-4740-9094-4d77d0401e14" data-original-url="https://s.yimg.com/os/creatr-uploaded-images/2020-01/799b1ca0-42af-11ea-b8ef-29ecd470780c" data-title="Vizio" src="https://www.efrtechgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/1580319307_878_The-best-pre-Super-Bowl-deals-for-4K-TVs-and-streaming.jpeg"/></p>
<p>Still, purely for value it&#8217;s hard to beat Vizio&#8217;s M-Series television that also has quantum dot tech built-in, and 90 zones of local dimming. The 65-inch model is currently on sale for about $650.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" alt="Hisense H9F" data-caption="Hisense H9F" data-credit="Hisense" data-credit-link-back="" data-dam-provider="" data-local-id="local-4-4824514-1580313432187" data-media-id="dc9eb28a-8ab4-446f-8fb7-e635702e18b6" data-original-url="https://s.yimg.com/os/creatr-uploaded-images/2020-01/ffb148a0-42af-11ea-b5fe-2c75548fe0df" data-title="Hisense H9F" src="https://www.efrtechgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/1580319307_124_The-best-pre-Super-Bowl-deals-for-4K-TVs-and-streaming.jpeg"/></p>
<p>If you&#8217;d rather have Android TV than the Roku OS TCL uses or Vizio&#8217;s Smartcast setup, then Hisense&#8217;s 65-inch H9F delivers similar performance, and is on sale for $799 &#8212; $100 less than the standard price. All of them can manage 4K HDR with support for Dolby Vision.</p>
<p>But what if you spent just a little more? Higher-end TVs will come with better performance not just for fast-moving bright content like the Super Bowl&#8217;s 4K stream, but movies and perhaps even video games you&#8217;ll play later on. LG&#8217;s B9 OLED is as beautiful as any other screen we&#8217;ve seen in the last year, but at nearly <a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RMSLJK5/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;linkCode=ll1&amp;tag=productpost2020-20&amp;language=en_US" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">$1,800</a> it might be a bit too much of a jump. Samsung&#8217;s Q60 series of 4K TVs should fit the bill perfectly. They&#8217;re compatible with both Alexa and Google Assistant, have a bevy of apps built right in and FreeSync VRR to make sure compatible games look their best. Right now it&#8217;s on sale for $898, which is about $100 cheaper than before.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" alt="X900F" data-caption="X900F" data-credit="Sony" data-credit-link-back="" data-dam-provider="" data-local-id="local-5-7119730-1580313654477" data-media-id="9bf54921-59ae-4480-a4e4-bc16085f4f82" data-original-url="https://s.yimg.com/os/creatr-uploaded-images/2020-01/83726110-42b0-11ea-bd77-378c15a61677" data-title="X900F" src="https://www.efrtechgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/1580319307_170_The-best-pre-Super-Bowl-deals-for-4K-TVs-and-streaming.jpeg"/></p>
<p>Similarly, Sony&#8217;s X900F 4K TV <a href="https://www.engadget.com/2018/03/25/sony-2018-oled-and-led-tv-pricing/">was one of the better ones on the market in 2018</a>. It will be replaced soon by the X900H models we saw a few weeks ago at CES, but it&#8217;s still an excellent TV &#8212; albeit with some off-angle viewing issues &#8212; and now it&#8217;s on sale for under $1,000, which <a href="https://www.engadget.com/2019/10/29/sony-x900f-4k-led-tv-sale/">is as cheap as we&#8217;ve seen</a> a 65-inch model.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" alt="TCL" data-caption="TCL" data-credit="TCL" data-credit-link-back="" data-dam-provider="" data-local-id="local-6-376189-1580314087193" data-media-id="02fb220b-41b5-4a97-9bb6-d8fa6ebcc1d3" data-original-url="https://s.yimg.com/os/creatr-uploaded-images/2020-01/865edd30-42b1-11ea-91a9-e258e5550890" data-title="TCL" src="https://www.efrtechgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/1580319307_821_The-best-pre-Super-Bowl-deals-for-4K-TVs-and-streaming.jpeg"/></p>
<p>Still, if size is the only thing that matters, then I can&#8217;t blame you for going big. There are a couple of excellent deals available for super-sized TVs. First up, TCL&#8217;s 4 Series has fewer dimming zones than some of its competitors, but that shouldn&#8217;t matter as much for the bright lights of a prime time football game. The 75-inch model is available for just $650 and stretches the image far enough to blow the minds of your guests.</p>
<p>If I had the space, I&#8217;d take a long look at Sony&#8217;s XBR-X850G (shown at the top). The 85-inch 4K monster brings Android TV, Alexa and Google Assistant support alongside all of Sony&#8217;s 2019 TV features. Right now it&#8217;s on sale for just under $2,000, which matches the cheapest price we&#8217;ve seen and is several hundred dollars off of the normal price.</p>

<h3>Camera</h3>
<p>One of Richard&#8217;s favorite things about the 6T was its camera, which inherits most of its predecessor&#8217;s specs and delivers similarly impressive results. Richard said his daytime shots were sharp and that he was amazed by the clarity in his nighttime photos. Users were split on the camera, though. On the positive end of the spectrum, Yitz said that &#8220;in terms of reliability, the 6T stock camera always works and hasn&#8217;t lagged,&#8221; and that the iPhone, Pixel and Samsung cameras &#8220;do not have a significantly objective advantage.&#8221;</p>
<p><img decoding="async" alt="OnePlus 6T" data-caption="OnePlus 6T" data-credit="Engadget" data-credit-link-back="" data-dam-provider="" data-local-id="local-1-4488432-1563491778289" data-media-id="489fbd3a-02f6-4568-ae3d-6cd03623d47b" data-original-url="https://s.yimg.com/os/creatr-uploaded-images/2019-07/cdd2f190-a9b1-11e9-afb2-3bccab61e73f" data-title="OnePlus 6T" src="https://www.efrtechgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Readers-tell-us-why-the-OnePlus-6T-has-earned-so.jpeg"/></p>
<p>However, Samuel had a different experience. After he switched from a Pixel 2XL, the &#8220;drop in camera quality was noticeable,&#8221; but picture quality improved dramatically after he installed the XDA Google Camera port. Noah was more forgiving, noting that while the camera did not hold up to the best available devices, &#8220;this camera is still better than any phone camera you had two or three years ago.&#8221;</p>
<h3>Charging</h3>
<p>Though multiple users mentioned the lack of wireless charging, none of them really seemed bothered by the omission. Yitz said they don&#8217;t own a wireless charger and besides, the &#8220;amazing battery life&#8221; eliminated their desire for this feature. Andrew and Al also praised the battery life, though Al wishes he had the option of wireless charging. Yitz chalks up the great battery life to the 3,700mAh cell onboard, optimized software, lower screen resolution and reduced background processing.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" alt="OnePlus 6T" data-caption="OnePlus 6T" data-credit="Engadget" data-credit-link-back="" data-dam-provider="" data-local-id="local-2-5417645-1563491920422" data-media-id="c5712485-9ea6-42a7-9632-4885123b5323" data-original-url="https://s.yimg.com/os/creatr-uploaded-images/2019-07/1d403210-a9b2-11e9-b1ff-a7c2df6df463" data-title="OnePlus 6T" src="https://www.efrtechgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/1563556003_971_Readers-tell-us-why-the-OnePlus-6T-has-earned-so.jpeg"/></p>
<h3>Headphone jack and fingerprint scanner</h3>
<p>Richard had two complaints about the 6T&#8217;s hardware: the lack of a headphone jack and the sluggish fingerprint scanner (particularly in very bright or dark situations). Readers were far less bothered by the lack of the 3.5mm port, with Kealan saying &#8220;the headphone jack is gone, so what? Just about everything&#8217;s Bluetooth now.&#8221; Likewise, Yitz didn&#8217;t take issue with it, saying they &#8220;leave the adapter that came with the phone on my headphones&#8221; to quickly connect.</p>
<p>Samuel agrees with Richard that the fingerprint reader is &#8220;hit or miss depending on whether your fingers are dry or the screen is clean.&#8221; He uses face authentication in tandem with the fingerprint sensor to unlock faster. However, Yitz found the 6T&#8217;s in-display scanner &#8220;significantly faster than the Samsung S10,&#8221; and felt it unlocked faster than some iPhones.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" alt="OnePlus 6T" data-caption="OnePlus 6T" data-credit="Ebgadget" data-credit-link-back="" data-dam-provider="" data-local-id="local-3-206803-1563492006824" data-media-id="783d9bf6-9608-4150-8032-a07d0cc7f617" data-original-url="https://s.yimg.com/os/creatr-uploaded-images/2019-07/72b83b20-a9b2-11e9-bdfc-782255ded825" data-title="OnePlus 6T" src="https://www.efrtechgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/1563556003_911_Readers-tell-us-why-the-OnePlus-6T-has-earned-so.jpeg"/></p>
<h3>Software</h3>
<p>The 6T&#8217;s Android Pie-based OxygenOS ran smoothly for Richard, and for pretty much most readers who submitted reviews. The users who mentioned software reported positive things, with Andrew saying the gesture system is easy to use. Yitz praised the &#8220;clean and smooth UI with customizable and useful features and (its lack of) bloatware or 3rd party apps.&#8221; Both Yitz and Samuel applauded the update schedule for the phone, with Samuel highlighting &#8220;the speed of the OnePlus&#8217;s OS updates.&#8221;</p>
<h3>Cellular service</h3>
<p>On T-Mobile, the 6T showed solid and consistent service. Yitz said that both coverage and data speeds were great, but considered the handset&#8217;s incompatibility with Sprint a con. Samuel agreed that call quality was excellent, though he acknowledged that this might be more dependent on T-Mobile than on OnePlus.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" alt="OnePlus 6T" data-caption="OnePlus 6T" data-credit="Engadget" data-credit-link-back="" data-dam-provider="" data-local-id="local-4-3035065-1563492312469" data-media-id="eb41bde8-cc72-4136-a801-39d663ae3f01" data-original-url="https://s.yimg.com/os/creatr-uploaded-images/2019-07/17b81190-a9b3-11e9-bdb6-5e256141103a" data-title="OnePlus 6T" src="https://www.efrtechgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/1563556003_25_Readers-tell-us-why-the-OnePlus-6T-has-earned-so.jpeg"/></p>
<h3>Comparisons</h3>
<p>Though this was OnePlus&#8217; first foray into the US market, it earned several fans among our readers, like Kealan, who &#8220;deferred from the Galaxy to the OnePlus and honestly I don&#8217;t see myself going back.&#8221; Despite his misgivings about the camera, Samuel said the OnePlus 6T &#8220;certainly rivals the performance of a Google Pixel 2XL, with more processing power, more RAM, and a smoother, snappier user experience.&#8221; Noah also felt the 6T was a &#8220;definite upgrade&#8221; from their Droid Turbo 2 and advocated others switch &#8220;because of all the features, customization options and speed.&#8221;</p>
<p>Only a few users had anything negative to say about the 6T. Samuel&#8217;s &#8220;only gripes are the fingerprint reader and the camera,&#8221; while Al missed both SD storage and wireless charging. Tyson was disappointed that the smartphone &#8220;feels obsolete and out of the loop&#8221; already, with the recent release of the 7T Pro. But Samuel also appreciated the 6T&#8217;s near-stock Android experience, powerful speed and low price. And Tyson said he was &#8220;constantly finding new things that I like about the phone and discovering things I didn&#8217;t know I could do.&#8221; Noah feels that &#8220;for the price you pay, you get phenomenal quality all around&#8221; and Kealan declared the 6T to be &#8220;honestly the best phone I&#8217;ve had. What&#8217;s not to love?&#8221;</p>

<p>The affection that fans feel for the NES is evident in the reviews left on our <a href="https://www.engadget.com/products/nintendo/entertainment-system/1st-gen/">NES product page</a>. One user wishes for a Duck Hunt remaster, while other admirers have awarded the console a score of 10 based on Zelda alone. You&#8217;ll also find plenty others reminiscing about all the time they spent blowing into those &#8220;big, bulky grey cartridges.&#8221; Personally, I&#8217;m not sure how many hours I clocked playing Super Mario Bros but I still know the first five levels like the back of my hand.</p>
<p>If you likewise hold a special place in your heart for the NES, commemorate it with a user review detailing all the things you love and miss about the system. Head over to our buyer&#8217;s guide page for the first-gen Nintendo Entertainment System and share your thoughts about the console that started it all. And if you&#8217;re a bigger fan of, say, the <a href="https://www.engadget.com/products/nintendo/snes/1st-gen/">SNES</a> or the <a href="https://www.engadget.com/products/nintendo/2ds/">2DS</a>, we have product pages for those too!</p>
<p>Note: Comments are off on this post; please contribute your memories and thoughts on our <a href="https://www.engadget.com/products/nintendo/entertainment-system/1st-gen/">NES</a> or <a href="https://www.engadget.com/products/nintendo/snes/1st-gen/">SNES</a> product pages! Thanks!</p>

It pulls the long-running series into modern gaming, with a perfectly pitched difficulty curve and an incredible open world to play with. There&#8217;s crafting, weapons that degrade, almost too much to collect and do and a gentle story hidden away for players to discover for themselves. Even without the entertaining DLC add-ons, there&#8217;s simply so much to do here and challenges for every level of gamer. <strong>MS</strong></p>
<h2>Bayonetta 2</h2>
<p><img decoding="async" alt="Bayonetta 2" data-caption="Bayonetta 2" data-credit="Nintendo" data-credit-link-back="" data-dam-provider="" data-local-id="local-1-6735847-1551785762026" data-media-id="c876e08e-58f7-4dfa-8bf0-64bd05df1400" data-original-url="https://s.yimg.com/os/creatr-uploaded-images/2019-03/d0c58750-3f3a-11e9-b2fd-372cb5153772" data-title="Bayonetta 2" src="https://www.efrtechgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/1551882771_585_The-best-games-for-Nintendo-Switch.jpeg"/></p>
<p>The Bayonetta series fuses together compelling (and different) character design with memorable boss battles, seemingly endless waves of monsters and a smart fighting system that&#8217;s easy enough to start with, but pulls no punches later. Originally launched on the Wii U, the Switch gives <a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077ZGRQM2/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=engadget00-20&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;creativeASIN=B077ZGRQM2&amp;linkId=d9ab0bf36b73dc66df151f8b008bbc85"><i>Bayonetta 2</i></a> another chance to shine (the original is also available alongside) in a portable console, with nothing lost in transition. Another reason to catch up? A third game for Nintendo&#8217;s hybrid console is already underway. <strong>MS</strong></p>
<h2>Mario Kart 8 Deluxe</h2>
<p><img decoding="async" alt="Nintendo" data-caption="Nintendo" data-credit="Nintendo" data-credit-link-back="" data-dam-provider="" data-local-id="local-3-2602746-1551811947767" data-media-id="0f1f5119-b861-40ea-8b96-db66a01546f2" data-original-url="https://s.yimg.com/os/creatr-uploaded-images/2019-03/bf2853a0-3f77-11e9-b756-90659bd67f98" data-title="Nintendo" src="https://www.efrtechgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/1551882771_914_The-best-games-for-Nintendo-Switch.jpeg"/></p>
<p><i><a href="http://www.amazon.com/Mario-Kart-8-Deluxe-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B01N1037CV/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mario Kart 8 Deluxe</a></i><a href="http://www.amazon.com/Mario-Kart-8-Deluxe-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B01N1037CV/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><i>&#8216;</i></a>s vibrancy and attention to detail prove it&#8217;s a valid upgrade to the Wii U original. Characters are animated and endearing as they race around, and Nintendo&#8217;s made bigger, wider tracks to accommodate up to 12 racers. This edition of Mario Kart included gravity-defying hover tires and automatic gliders for when you soar off ramps, making races even more visually thrilling, but at its core, it&#8217;s Mario Kart &#8212; simple, pure gaming fun. It&#8217;s also a great showcase for the multitude of playing modes that the Switch is capable of: Two-player split screen anywhere is possible, as are online races or Switch-on-Switch chaos. For now, this is the definitive edition. <strong>MS</strong></p>
<h2>Mario Odyssey</h2>
<p><img decoding="async" alt="Nintendo" data-caption="Nintendo" data-credit="Nintendo" data-credit-link-back="" data-dam-provider="" data-local-id="local-1-4639730-1551811947708" data-media-id="be81f5ba-ae24-40fa-871c-7e17e4c30a62" data-original-url="https://s.yimg.com/os/creatr-uploaded-images/2019-03/bf664700-3f77-11e9-89f7-661b89000074" data-title="Nintendo" src="https://www.efrtechgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/1551882771_573_The-best-games-for-Nintendo-Switch.jpeg"/></p>

Yes, we got some important modern improvements, like maps and fast travel, and the power-stealing Cappy is a truly fun addition to Mario&#8217;s usual tricks. But that core joy of Mario, figuring out the puzzles, racing to collect items and exploring landmarks, is here in abundance. <strong>MS</strong></p>
<h2>Fortnite Battle Royale</h2>
<p><img decoding="async" alt="" src="https://www.efrtechgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/The-best-games-for-Nintendo-Switch.com/os/creatr-uploaded-images/2018-12/cb7c41a0-f7cb-11e8-b3ff-4bc6a0e52d77&#038;client=a1acac3e1b3290917d92&#038;signature=76300401c5cb3cf3d626b9729722fd2406d5ec60&#038;client=amp-blogside-v2&#038;signature=44d3cb3fc02f657f6ff83d225400358e15ff5aaa.png"/></p>
<p><em>Fortnite</em> is a cultural phenomenon, responsible for popularizing a new shooting-game genre and doing it in a way that has millions playing across mobile, PC and games consoles, like the Switch &#8212; you&#8217;ll see this particular game appear in several of our lists. It all started with a simple idea: survive. (Actually it started with a tower-defense-esque game where you built a fort to protect human survivors against zombies, but hey, it evolved.) <a href="https://www.epicgames.com/fortnite/en-US/buy-now/battle-royale" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Fortnite</em></a> has a low barrier to entry (it&#8217;s free!), and the sheer momentum behind the fact that everyone is playing it makes resistance futile. Parachute into the field, grab supplies, guns and ammo, build some defensive protections if you like and make it to the end. Sounds simple, but the best game ideas are. <em>PUBG, Apex</em> and the rest have a tough fight on their hands. <strong>MS</strong></p>
<h2>Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle</h2>
<p><img decoding="async" alt="Nintendo" data-caption="Nintendo" data-credit="Engadget" data-credit-link-back="" data-dam-provider="Engadget" data-local-id="local-7-645610-1551812299026" data-media-id="6a578f5d-f028-49d1-b522-200a5bb3fce8" data-original-url="https://s.yimg.com/os/creatr-uploaded-images/2019-03/bf72ca20-3f77-11e9-9efd-1afe7013ebf5" data-title="Nintendo" src="https://www.efrtechgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/1551882771_875_The-best-games-for-Nintendo-Switch.jpeg"/></p>
<p>The visuals of this Ubisoft-Nintendo collaboration betray a sophisticated, turn-based strategy game. <a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071JRMKBH/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=engadget00-20&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;creativeASIN=B071JRMKBH&amp;linkId=1acb6835480d20c128ea4ed3b1611718" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Mario + Rabbids</em></a>&#8216; learning curve is perfect, with the story mode adding new characters and unlocking better, different weapons and skills as the game progresses. Skills (and weapon effects) playfully interact with each other by the middle of the game, adding dimensions to the initial cover-based shoot-out. Each level has a goal (destroy all enemies, get to this area), and you&#8217;re rated only by the survival rate of your three fighters and the number of turns it takes to fulfill said goal. Parts of the single-player mode are weaker, but the core game is equal parts entertaining and slick. There&#8217;s also a rich multiplayer mode to add to the longevity. <strong>MS</strong></p>
<h2>Rocket League</h2>
<p><img decoding="async" alt="Rocket League" data-caption="Rocket League" data-credit="" data-credit-link-back="" data-dam-provider="" data-local-id="local-6-1844249-1551812269876" data-media-id="3cb5ccc1-e55e-49e3-b0f5-228280d2f191" data-original-url="https://s.yimg.com/os/creatr-uploaded-images/2019-03/84672b50-3f78-11e9-a6ff-5edef70ea262" data-title="Rocket League" src="https://www.efrtechgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/1551882771_825_The-best-games-for-Nintendo-Switch.jpeg"/></p>
<p><em><a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077KHY5ND/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=engadget00-20&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;creativeASIN=B077KHY5ND&amp;linkId=4eff81488367615948ad4dffe45825cc" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Rocket League</a> </em>could have been a short-lived novelty title, a game that mashed together soccer and vehicular combat to make a few million in its launch year before fading quietly into obscurity. Instead, developer Psyonix has consistently innovated since 2015, and in the process, it&#8217;s pushed the broader video-game industry toward a more inclusive future. <em>Rocket League</em> was one of the first games to call for and implement cross-console play, and today it&#8217;s one of just two titles (the other one being <em>Fortnite</em>) to support play among PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Switch. <strong>JC</strong></p>
<h2>Splatoon 2</h2>
<p><img decoding="async" alt="Nintendo" data-caption="Nintendo" data-credit="Nintendo" data-credit-link-back="" data-dam-provider="" data-local-id="local-2-294722-1551811947745" data-media-id="94941ca9-9c0a-46d5-a4c8-6cf31494e0f8" data-original-url="https://s.yimg.com/os/creatr-uploaded-images/2019-03/bf71dfc0-3f77-11e9-bff1-101b001d6245" data-title="Nintendo" src="https://www.efrtechgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/1551882771_501_The-best-games-for-Nintendo-Switch.jpeg"/></p>
<p>The original <em>Splatoon</em>, released on the underselling Wii U, didn&#8217;t get the love it deserved. On the Switch, the sequel is even better, with plenty to offer both new and returning players. This squid-ink shooter divvies up players into teams of four and asks them to cover as much turf as possible &#8212; by dousing it in paint. <a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N9QVIRV/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=engadget00-20&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;creativeASIN=B01N9QVIRV&amp;linkId=9790c529d553477801092a4d65bc543f" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Splatoon 2</em></a> adds even more weapons, cool clothes and even a few new battle modes, including Salmon Run, which pits your team against a series of unusual sea-creature-inspired bosses. There&#8217;s always something to do in the game, making it more than worth the Nintendo Online subscription needed to play with your ink-shooting friends (and foes) online. <strong>KN</strong></p>
<h2>Stardew Valley</h2>
<p><img decoding="async" alt="" src="https://www.efrtechgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/The-best-games-for-Nintendo-Switch.png&#038;client=amp-blogside-v2&#038;signature=7b97339219d1be6f15e19cb02ade44d141052ec5.png"/></p>
<p>Sometimes all you want to do is just water some plants, drink a beer and pet a dog, and <a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076TK4M96/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=engadget00-20&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;creativeASIN=B076TK4M96&amp;linkId=62ca0d81c19477cf8b818519c37cc2ff" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Stardew Valley</em></a> has all that and more. When you escape your mundane office job to the valley, you&#8217;re given a small farm to shape as you see fit with crops and livestock. If you get tired of that, explore the nearby Pelican Town, get to know your neighbors and hopefully woo one lucky one into marriage. Or, you can take your chances in the caves at the edge of town to mine for gems and metals &#8212; at which point the game becomes more dungeon crawler than simple farming sim. You can play <em>Stardew Valley</em> at your pace, so you can spend hours on it and never get bored, or put it down for months and pick it up again and just start watering your crops again like no time has passed. <strong>KN</strong></p>
<h2>Celeste</h2>
<p><img decoding="async" alt="Celeste" data-caption="Celeste" data-credit="" data-credit-link-back="" data-dam-provider="" data-local-id="local-1-944151-1551800537119" data-media-id="886fc809-899d-4427-bfd5-68e7024aea14" data-original-url="https://s.yimg.com/os/creatr-uploaded-images/2019-03/20c439f0-3f5d-11e9-b551-7a6374823b0a" data-title="Celeste" src="https://www.efrtechgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/The-best-games-for-Nintendo-Switch.png"/></p>
<p><a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079Z1LPSP/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=engadget00-20&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;creativeASIN=B079Z1LPSP&amp;linkId=4b075fcd87d1304a1ee09b36dbc4a4f9" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Celeste</em></a> is a lot of things. It&#8217;s a great platformer, but it&#8217;s also a puzzle game. It&#8217;s extremely punishing, but it&#8217;s also very accessible. It puts gameplay above everything, but it has a great story. It&#8217;s a beautiful, moving and memorable contradiction of a game, created by Matt Makes Games, the indie studio behind the excellent <em>Towerfall</em>. So, <em>Celeste</em> is worth picking up no matter what platform you own, but its room-based levels and clear 2D artwork make it a fantastic game to play on the Switch when on the go. <strong>AS</strong></p>
